ThaSkipper Ok so most of you folks that follow the blog regularly know that I have been pretty M.I.A from the blog in the recent months. Mannnnn to sum up a long and probably boring story it’s just been work for real. Everything from videos, event photos, editing, and design work. But what a lot of people don’t know is that i’ve also been interning for two shops as well. The first shop i’ve been designing work for is www.EastWestWorldwide.com of NYC….you should check them out below, dope shop they carry like everything.
The other shop that i just most recently began interning for is Sir&Madame of Chicago. They were formally known as SoleMates but now have ventured out into their own endeavors and opened Sir&Madame recently. Also they are a second home to well know lifestyle brand The Brooklyn Circus. But as welcome package to the team they sent some shirts in the mail, shout out to them for that was totally unexpected. But anywhoo that’s where I’ve been and best believe I will be posting regularly and will keep everybody updated with what’s going on. CHEA!

Don’t Underestimate

This weekend I saw the movie ‘Takers’ with the homies. I went into the movie with very low expectations (especially due to the fact that it took 2.5 years to release). Honestly, I only went because I hadn’t hung out with my buddies in a minute and I was invited….couldn’t resist.
Went to the Galleria. Theatre full of loud ass people with darker pigmentation, golds, dreads with highlighted tips, weave ponytails, and exposed tracks *cue horror music*. As a matter of fact, someone yelled out in the crowd in the middle of the movie and said “Yall need to take yall asses back to the Esquire.” I won’t front….I giggled at that. But with all the commotion, it still went unnoticed….You know why??….because the movie was frikkin’ AWESOME!! So entertaining! I was highly surprised. Action-packed, slightly comedic…especially T.I.’s acting (stick to movies like ‘ATL’ bruh-bruh), and the men were smokin’! (especially Hayden Christensen…..lawd, lawd. #whiteboycrush). It reminded me of a male version of ‘Set It Off’. I’m really glad I went to the film and I recommend you all go see it. I guarantee it’s better than ‘The Last Exorcism’.
Nike78 x W+K Tokyo LAB

NIKE78 is an exciting new project created by Paul Jenkins and inspired by NIKE. Creatives involved will receive a brand new pair of NIKE shoes and will be asked to use sport as inspiration to challenge their function. The project will be documented on this website and after the shoes have been collected, an exhibition showcase is planned for the London Design Festival 2010. This is a unique project featuring some of the most talented creative individuals, studios and other organizations.
One of the collaborators in the project and one of my favorite creative groups is W+K Tokyo LAB. They were the one’s responsible for the viral Nike music shoe video that many assumed to be fake but turned to be actually real. [Click Here For Vid] As part of their involvement in Nike78 they were given a new pair of Air Max 360′s and they decided to put an aquatic spin to this shoe. Check the video out below and watch their process behind the creation of the shoe.
