I fiend for this.
Perusing my sites once again and found the coolest blog ever on Elle. “25 unexpected uses for beauty, fashion, and household items. The ideas are splendid! And I will definitely be using some of these ideas for myself. Here were a few that caught my eye:

Of course I'm all about my nails. Little did I know that if you scrub toothpaste on your nails, it can remove stains and also add a little shine. (Sidenote: it was also stated to add drops of lemon juice to your nails as a whitener)If you're rough like me and constantly mess up your stockings/tights, cut out the footies, throw them joints over your arms, and add some more random snags, holes, and runs as a fashion accessory elsewhere on your body.A lot of times, I cannot find the twin to my earring sets (which is why you see me in mismatched earrings a lot). Use buttons to keep your earrings together. (Place earring through each hole on one button)

I haven’t given you the fashion that’s out of your zone lately. You should always seek inspiration outside of your normal view. Whether you design sneakers, make dresses, or create beats. Still take the time to look at unfamiliar things and see what they register in your head when you stare at them for longer than 2 seconds. You may inspire a new thought or be totally lost. Either way this editorial is dope!

I’m getting old. And when you get old, you stop caring about a lot. That doesn’t mean giving up on everything. That means you stop caring about what you don’t care about anymore and care about new stuff. Main thing I’m truly starting to lose a passion for?……….sneakers.
I seriously thought I was one of those sneaker addicts that vowed to wear cool looking kicks even in my elderly years. But nah……I might not be in the orthopedic joints but I won’t be stepping in Jordans either if I can barely go down the steps with my old ass. Sneakers just don’t give me that joy anymore. If you all remember, I wrote a post HELLAS ago about how much I love Jordan 11s and I promised to get all of them because Jordan 11s were my first Jordan ever in the 3rd grade. The Jordan 11 concords came out recently. Idiots ruined the excitement for me, I refused to wait in line, and to be honest, I valued keeping the money in my bank account for more important things than to throw it all on some sneakers that I would probably wear once or twice. I was seriously only getting those joints for the history behind them. I realized that instead of actually paying for a good pair of shoes, I was really only paying to say “I got ‘em”. And that’s some bullsh*t. This reverse passion for sneakers has made me look at allllllll of my shoeboxes and realize that I don’t wear more than half of my kicks. That’s ridiculous and a waste! I could be getting money off of these joints by selling them to people that have that passion that I had years ago and who wear a size 6Y/6.5Y
With that said, I will be selling a lot of sneakers and the pics and prices will be coming soon right here on MadeMonarchs.com. (Ay….I got some that are close to the heart though that won’t be going ANYWHERE: Sambas, Safari Air Max 1s, Bred 11s).
I had a good run y’all. I got the boxes and pics to prove it. But it’s on to the next love….whatever that is.
I mess with Mos heavy as a person. He may be one of the realest and most personable artist still out here making music. This video is just dope all around and features the designers and owners of many brands that are influential to me. Check it out below….sidebar I must find me a Pigalle hoody…MUST!!
As I was perusing the web…..I saw that Elle mag made a top 50 list of Women of the Year: Best Dressed of 2011. I wasn’t impressed with most of the list, but then again, I’m not into “fashion” like that. I just know what I like and what I would actually wear…and here are my pics from that list:

Sarah Jessica Parker in Stella McCartney. I'm VERY partial (in a bad way) to one-sleeved dresses but I'm diggin lace as of late so I'll let it past. And that flower is my type of accessory.

Zoe Saldana in Elie Saab. Sequins are cool but those bright green sequins??!!!......YES!! My curves would be swaggin in that dress too.
First off Remember I FUX with the refinement and growing worldly attitude of streetwear. This lookbook has been titled in french, Le Unstoppable Homme means The Unstoppable Man.
But not in a brash or simple boldness, these pieces have ornate scrolling fonts and graphics that add character to what would be a plain hoodie or sweatshirt. I’m fond of the image below with the swords crossing blades on the back. ( I would have preferred that image to be on the front).

This season we focus on a solid collection of premium cut-n-sewn heavyweight fleece sweaters, snapbacks, beanies, and classic signature t-shirts. We also brought back a few of our past popular pieces like the Zeitgeist hoody and the Swordsman tee. We continue to progress forward and are looking to end the year stronger than ever as we dive into 2012. May the heavens be with the opposition.
Cop something dope and kick it to end 2011, DONT SLEEP! Quantities are LIMITED!

Black Flight refers to the migration of African Americans out of their past locations to newer and better territories in the suburbs. I know all to well about this, and if you are from STL and live NoCo you should realize it too.
The 40-50 year old parents upgraded hellas with the $$$ and buying houses 10 years ago but now look at us, their kids, We are out of school and now looking to redefine our “Black Flight” where are we going? I can already tell it doesn’t look like any where within our area code.
Yeah I know your type (Mike Epps Voice). . . You are shooting for NYC, Chicago, L.A., Portaland. I see N!99AS are even inspired to visit Paris now. I say all power to you but I all that travel requires Flight.
So what do you know about Concord Jets?? I’m not talking 747s landing in lakes but jet life started in 1969 flying over seas in half the time. There were only 20 built and now it’s history.
Now do you know what I’m talking about? Iamme has the gear to get you right, garments starting at $15 http://bit.ly/blackflight

The internet is an fascinating place that is continuing to connect like minded people regardless of Geography. Twitter makes me feel as if we are txting all day, and your tumblr/facebook gives me enough images to know what you ate for breakfast and where you partied last night. This is how it is with @Curran_J. I’ve never actually met the guy, because he has been seen on almost every major style site in my focus, I befriended him digitally sometime last year. Like most facebook friends we had no formal “How do you do?” convo, just casual recognition of interesting work and conversation every now and then.
So after a while these people that I see constantly on my feeds resonate just as much as those real life acquaintances. I even see him often with our STL homegirl @QueenLuella inspiring the streets of NY. He is up to amazing things and I’m happy that things are coming into my view full circle. For example. . .

I saw this photo on UpscaleHype where the focus was on Tyga’s Fall 2011 Givenchy T-shirt, BUT take a look at Terrance J! He is wearing a “Kings inspire Kings” tee. My first thoughts were “Hey that’s my friend’s project!!” then my second though was “Who is my friend?” lmao. I went to check on my social media bro and found this Documentary on his style, and journey to where he is now.
People often ask me “what should I do to gain style influence, and notoriety?”, please listen to this guy he is giving you the directions through his own story. Please pay attention:

This 2011 finds Akomplice with their largest cut and sew offering to date, a testament to the brand’s ingenuity and integrity of quality. They focus on cotton twill jackets that appeal to the minimalist in all of us. Of course they didn’t lose sight of their ever popular hooded varsity jackets-which have now been reworked to sport zip-off hoods. The seven year brand shows their growth, but holds true to their roots with their tee line that represents a diverse mix of social commentary, politics, clever puns, and block patterns. I am excited to see this brand continue to evolve and expand.
This is one of the brands that I’ve been slightly following back since the Hypebeast “streetwear brand” forums. They have come a long way and just like most streetwear fashion; the longer it exists the more refined it becomes. This look book and the level of seriousness to these clothes reflects that. I just wish they would have runway shows and fashion weeks like they do for high fashion. . . Maybe I should start that? lol
If you remember the first time i showed a collection for myself was back in Feb. of this year. With graduation and other ups and downs of adulthood I assumed that I wouldn’t do any more shows this year. But I decided to be apart of one for my girl Jacquelyne and her Blaq Seance Show.
I only showed 6 pieces ( the last one was requested to be all black because of the theme). I always try to think out my collection so that all the pieces are consistent and look like they belong in a line up together. I must say though because of recent events and time constraints I wasn’t able to add all the details and styling I usually would. So I definitely need to do a photo shoot with these new garments soon.
I don’t have much to say:

Only problem for me is that they are $865!!!!

I came in contact with a rising designer (fore mentioned in the title of this post). I will shorten it to JCP for now. His accessories and garments have been worn by some of the most talked about people in popular entertainment right now. He recently showcased at St. Louis Fashion week. Unfortunately I was not able to give him any of my garments as we arranged, but He did send me one of his Bear Brooches.
I’m excited to get to know so many people around the country. You can make leaps and bounds by working hard and sharing your talent with people.
Shout out to JCP and thanks for the brooch, hopefully I will be getting more of his pieces in the future. You can check them out here on his website: http://www.jasonchristopherpeters.com/
