Man I saw this on Tumblr, watched it a trillion times, and ’bout teared up every time. This young dude from Australia’s Got Talent got up there and straight did his thing in a major way to Whitney Houston’s song “I Have Nothing”.
So my #girlcrush Jasmine Solano that I first witnessed behind the turntables at a Wiz concert back in the day is now taking her turn at the mic. Featuring Yelawolf, here is her single “One on One”. I dig this joint.
They’ve been out foreverrrrrr but this is like my new favorite group. This joint AND this video is killer all at once!
When you’re done with this, check out their song “This Love” as well. The song is super ill!
Santigold has been gone for quite a while and I’ve been waiting on her return. But i am NOT satisfied with this comeback. le sigh. The song is “ehh”. The video itself is better.
Check it out for yourself:
My dream is still to be a Santigold backup dancer though….
I really can’t say much.
so I won’t say anything.
THIS IS GOSPEL! LISTEN!!!!
Pharrell is a musical genius in my opinion. This short clip is not enough but was still powerful enough for me to feel what was going on in that room. Music is what you hear. Even if Pharrell doesn’t rap/sing on this I’m sure it will be just as great. “Emotional” was a perfect description.
If your music has a feeling to it, its an automatic win.
Yasiin Bey (bka Mos Def) released his reinterpretation of Kanye and Jay’s “N*ggas in Paris” titling it “N*ggas in Poorest”. He tackles on the many problems of the world (society) we live in. This is one of the tracks from his series Top 40 Underdogs.
It’s in good taste to put this out there on a day dedicated to the “King” (the Martin Luther one). MLK tackled some of the harshest problems we had to go through especially during that specific point in town. Thank you Dr. King for being a driving force towards the change. But there are many more things we must change and Mos Def is addressing those changes in this song.
It’s time for people to step off their pedestal and help the ones “below”.
Don’t get caught up in no throne.

Oh…and long live the King.
Something y’all should know about me is that if a hear a piece of music that I really like, I will do whatever I have to to find that music. I also get overly excited when I hear new music. I’m a Class ‘A’ music geek and proud of it!
So last night I went to Red Box and rented the movie “Moneyball” to see what all the fuss was about and if it was worth a Golden Globe. It was a solid movie but Golden Globe worthy? Naw. During the movie, there is a part when the daughter of the main character Bill Beane, played by Brad Pitt, sings him a song and once I heard it I had to find out where that shit came from.
After a few minutes of searching I came across an Australian artist by the name of Lenka. Her name puzzles me but her music is undeniable. I downloaded and listened to her self-titled debut, which dropped in 2008, and I was thoroughly impressed. She reminds me of Sara Bareilles and has talent out the ass. I encourage everyone who sees this to look her up. Good music is still alive!!!

I believe Elle put his heart into this $hit. Soulful, perfect timing, great beat selection. Ace Deuce is going to win, he has too. Down Load this and enjoy…..

I watch a lot of interviews with Lady Gaga, Please don’t think because she wears horns on her face or hats made of cheese means that she does not know why the fuck she does what she does.
She is deep in her music, craft and position on music. I never thought about the meaning of what Kanye and Jay did in the Otis video. I feel like she broke that imagery down like a professor.
I hope Steve continues to bring these amazing conversations up.
I can’t even tell you how many times I listened to this song, clearly way too many considering it has been out damn near a week and I’m just posting about it.
I appreciate SchoolBoy Q for dropping this track so early in the year, most definitely motivating music.
The homie @Iamkris24 out here making $hit happen. I can relate to this video/track heavy considering I was born in 88. Check out “Since 1988″ By R.O.Z directed by @IamKris24
